I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer on 7/21/15 and went with Eternal Hills based on their excellent reputation, unfortunately I didn’t receive this same level of service and the entire process from start to finish was incredibly unprofessional and made losing her hurt even more than it already did. Things got off to a bad start from the moment we called them to pick up her body, five hours from the time we made contact until the van arrived to pick her up. The problem was the man was alone and because her bedroom door was in a corner she had to be carried out by hand. Since he had nobody to help I had to carry my mother’s corpse nearly dropping her and load her into the van, a horrific experience I will never be able to shake.

The next day we went to the mortuary to make arrangement and pay for the cremation. Because Eternal Hills has such a solid reputation I wasn’t angry about their extremely high prices, after all it is my mom and making sure her wishes were met was top priority. The guy helping us with everything was named Don and he did tell me it takes some time to get the permit to cremate the body but I never imagined it would be two weeks that she was kept in the freezer before it was done. I never once received a call from the staff so by the tenth day I feeling frustrated, I called to get answers from Don but he was on vacation that day so I left a message asking him to get me some info. He called the next day and explained my mother was to be cremated the following Tuesday and he promised he would call me the moment her remains were ready for pick up. Tuesday came and went and the phone never rang, then Wednesday passed by and finally on Thursday feeling very upset I called again and Don as usual was not available. By this point I was mad, I felt as though my mother’s body was ignored along with my feelings so I asked to speak with the manager who confirmed my fears… the ashes had been sitting there along with the official death certificates but nobody took the five minutes to call me and let me know. To make matters worse I had explained to Don I was suffering nightmares about her being stuck in their facility but this apparently didn’t mean anything to him. I spent over three grand at Eternal Hills, money I didn’t have to spend but used because I wanted the best for the most important person in my world. I will never forgive myself for taking her to Eternal Hills, they made the darkest and most lonely time of my life so much more painful, they made me feel as though I failed her final wishes and this is something I don’t know how to forgive myself for. If you care about your loved ones remains or expect the mortuary you choose to keep you in the loop of what is happening do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, it can’t be any worse or more expensive than Eternal Hills.

We were trying to decide on what to put on my great grandmas tombstone. We had to choose between two quotes. We chose one of the two and they put the one we decided not to choose on her stone instead. just thought yall should know that

  • My oldest son passed away on 1/1/2017 a mother's worse nightmare, however in the midst of chaos Eternal hills helped our family get through the toughest week of planning easier, their compassion and warmth, their service and priority to meet your needs is exceptional everyone their is kind caring and eager to help I never received less than 100% satisfaction everyone there had a smile on their face and always showed me respect and love, my counselors Joe ontiveros and Kelly H. Did above and beyond to make sure my son had a wonderful place to rest , I will always be thankful and will keep saying it one of the best aces ever to lay to rest in a time of departure. God is good to have guided me here esperanza Tellez helped my mom pre plan for her future and I will be for ever grateful. The entire staff is amazing. Love the Lopez,Gonzalez Family❤

  • My experience there was good and they treated me and my family with respect and always offered beverages, my mother had passed away and we chose Eternal Hills because my mothers sister was berried there although we couldn't get her a plot next to her sister because the time between their death had been a long time we chose a beautiful spot down a hill under a very nice tree with the good book right above her, the only thing that I could say that was off was when she had her service although we did decide to have the wake and burial the same day only because they offered a slot for us at the end of the day because of time issue this would of been the only thing I would of changed because at the end of the service I wanted to stay and pray awhile and some lady that looked like a men in black character step out and block me then they proceeded to bury her as we walked away, by far not a touching experience but like I said, we chose that slot because of the time factor so some of the blame was on us, my only dispute was that they should of waited a little until we left, out of respect or just don't open the slot, that's it, other than that they help us out tremendously and when I order a headstone for my mother the staff was kind and even gave me options and refereed a rep by the name of Joe and he actually waved some of the cost as to not burden me, and that is what made me give them the 4 stars, Thanks Joe.
